Des Moines, Iowa – August 4, 2016 – Iowa Climbers’ Coalition (www.iowaclimbers.org), announces it has received a grant from REI for trail development at Picture Rocks State Park. 

The Iowa Climbers’ Coalition has partnered with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and the Access Fund to maintain trails and climbing access at Picture Rocks state park near Monticello Iowa. This is the premier climbing destination in the state of Iowa and is home to more than 60 rock climbing routes. This park is also enjoyed by hikers, canoeist, and fisherman and is home to a several small caves.

The Iowa Climbers’ Coalition, in partnership with the Iowa DNR, will use this grant to maintain and improve climbing and general hiking access in the park.
